Mixed Media "Live Laugh Love" Flower Block

Today I have a such a cute project to share! It's a mixed media "Live Laugh Love" flower block. And it's actually made from a 2x4 board! They are inexpensive and rustic boards, perfect for distressed sitter blocks. The leopard print flower is from Michaels in the floral/vase section. I used green ric rac ribbon for the stem and the leaves were hand drawn and cut from paper. I hand wrote the words onto the leaves.
Tips for this project:
*cut the board to 8" in length, sand edges if needed
*paint the block with slightly watered down acrylic paint, using a
paper towel to wipe away some of the paint to create a stain finish
*cut the wires off the back of the flower
*add color to the flower petals (came B&W) with watered down
acrylic paint dots using a paintbrush
*Use tacky glue to glue on the flower and ribbon stem
*distress the edges of the block with black archival ink (I like Brilliance)
*doodle on some of the leaves with a black permanent
marker (I used a Slick Writer)
*add some yellow paint dots to the ribbon stem
*distress the leaves and stem with some ink too
*use Yes brand paste to glue the leaves down

I love how this turned out, so I decided to keep it for now, instead of listing it. It lives in my craft studio :-)
